Behind the Queens

Behind the Queens is a black and white on-going photo documentary that shares the stories of people in drag.

For centuries, people have dressed up in women's clothing as a form of entertainment. Popular within the LGBTQ community for the last few decades - especially with gay men - the experience of drag is becoming less of a subculture and more of a mainstream form of art and entertainment.

The rise in popularity exposes more people to this extravagant, theatrical, and often hilarious performance of witty musical acts of lip syncing and comedy. The people behind this dazzling nights are human beings just like everyone else. Their drag acts often feel bigger than life but who are they behind the music, the makeup, and the stage? This photo documentary series seeks to reveal the present the royalty of these kweens behind the crowns they wear on stage.

IN/BRACE INTERNATIONAL

IN/BRACE is a Nashville-based photo documentary series that captures hellos from airports around the world.

We all know what it feels like to miss someone - that lover that left on a business trip for six months, a brother or sister deployed in the armed services overseas, or an old friend now living across the country.

This project hopes to capture those tender moments when people really embrace each other. The idea behind this project is to promote love and acceptance for those we love and those we don't know.
